Team HOPE Cancer Poker Run
Team HOPE Cancer Benefit Poker Run in it's 3rd year will be Saturday, August 30, 2014. Poker run for all bikes, all makes of cars and pickups. Registration starts at noon. There is a $20.00 entry fee at Kozy's (5 miles west of Yankton on Hwy 50). Ride leaves at 1 pm to Joe's Substation South of Lesterville, to the Keg in Tabor, The Bottle Shop in Tyndall, Schnitzs and The Bear Garden in Menno, and finishing at Trev's Corner in Lesterville. Everyone is Welcome even if you don't want to go on the ride. Just meet us around 6:30 pm for a free will offering BBQ supper and a street dance starting at 8. A great time is had by all.
Team HOPE is dedicated to all who have lost the fight against cancer, and those that won't quit! Profits go to area families affected by cancer. Donations are being taken at the Services Center Federal Credit Union in Yankton under the Team HOPE Fund.

Avon Alzheimer's Fun Run
The 4th annual Avon Alzheimer's Fun Run will be on September 6, 2014. 5K & 1 Mile races will start at the same time. Races will start and finish at the Avon High School Football Field. Starting time is 9:00 am. Registration on race day will be from 7:30 am to 8:45 am. Preregistration will run until September 5th. Runners and Walkers can register at the Avon Community Bank or at Etcetera during normal business hours. Registration fees are: $15 for adults and $10 for youth. Children under 10 do not have to be registered if accompanied by an adult. T-shirt given with each paid registration. First 50 finishers will receive a trophy or medal.
